For my final annual review the proposal to complete the PhD was to do something very, very interesting and possibly very important.
At the review the independent reviewer agreed to this.
But as soon as he was out of the door my supervisor told me to do something completely different and nowhere near as interesting.
I found this very strange.
And THAT was when I knew the fix was in.
