I'd say much, much more than you'd have thought 10 years ago.
Why is the UK abandoning Europe to join a tade bloc on the other side of the world which will soon count China as a member?
And are current events linked to this?
I would say yes to the latter.
The UK is leaving a trade bloc with good human rights, good workers rights and good animal welfare standards to join a trade bloc on the other side of the world with members who have questionable human rights, questionable workers rights and questionable animal welfare standards.
