THE GLOBAL WAR ON VINCE CABLE

The Global War on Vince Cable (GWOV) has begun. The aim of GWOV is to reduce his power, if not to displace him completely (for the sake of the coalition), so that his apparently strong anti-derivative policies does not destroy the banking policies that have caused such chaos. Yesterday there were several articles praising the City for being so great over the last few years for raising so much tax revenue. Well, that's no good now, is it. Those taxes have been blown on unnecessary wars and the police state. Now, thanks to the City, public services and jobs are going to get slashed, taxes raised, a while the merry bankers have all their bonuses off-shore.

Vince Cable told Gordon Brown repeatedly that he did not want to go into coalition with the Conservatives, according to insider accounts of the talks that reshaped British politics.

Dr Cable, the deputy Liberal Democrat leader, used a series of telephone calls with Mr Brown to emphasise that he regarded a deal with the Tories as the least palatable option for his party, The Times has learnt.
