NEW OPPORTUNITIES FOR SCHEDULING ALGORITHMS

1. As drones are used more frequently for deliveries and collections, they will need scheduling to maximise the use of lower altitudes and avoid crashes. Routing and scheduling algorithms assume they are limited to 2D. Such algorithms should be amended for 3D. New algorithms could be developed for 3D.

2. In these days of Covid-19, assuming employees have a tracker on their phone, it may be possible to minimise commuting contact time by calculating the minimum contact time on public transport for a town or city. This would require consent from employees and employers, and could be unworkable. This would be the ultimate in fascism, actually scheduling when people travel.
