Dominic Cummings was the chief propagandist for Brexit. But despite this display of Britishness he has been found in contempt of the British Parliament, i.e. us.
How can this be?
Cummings apparently graduated from Oxford University with a first class degree in Ancient and Modern History.
The Barings were at the heart of the beating heart of the British Empire around 1800, 30 years either side. Their bank, Barings, and the British East India Company, which they directed, were the British Empire.
As a scholar at Oxford studying modern history I would be very surprised if Cummings was unaware of this fact.
But still, Cummings married into the Barings family.
And somehow Cummings, who married into the Barings family, became the chief propagandist for Brexit so that the likes of his in-laws, the Barings, could avoid EU banking regulation and taxation.
Bend over, Britain!
